Greater Homewood Community Corporation, Inc.

For expansion of Experience Corps to five additional underperforming Baltimore City public schools. The demonstration project provides trained senior volunteers to tutor students; each senior tutor is paired with a classroom teacher to assist with classroom logistics, provide support with student behavior problems, and one-on-one remediation.

Greater Homewood Community Corporation, Inc.

Two grants for expansion of the Experience Corps tutoring and mentoring programs in Baltimore City public elementary schools identified as “low performing.” Currently, 325 Senior Corps members, paired with classroom teachers, work in 19 Baltimore City elementary schools, providing one-on-one remediation, assistance with classroom logistics, and classroom- management support 15 hours per week.

Greater Homewood Community Corporation, Inc.

For support of the Experience Corps Upper Grades Pilot Project, designed to serve fourth- and fifth-grade students in high-needs Baltimore City public schools. The project awards grants to five schools in support of strategies designed to increase academic achievement.

Greektown Community Development Corporation

Toward support of an after-school academic mentoring program for students at John Ruhrah Elementary Middle School and Patterson High School.

Green Street Academy

For support of the Integrated Internship and Apprenticeship Program at Green Street Academy.
