Pimlico Road Youth Program

Challenge grant toward operating costs of an academic and arts program for children and youth. The program is a collaboration between St. John’s Lutheran Church and Holy Nativity Episcopal Church, and offers a safe place for 45 neighborhood children. The after-school program provides academic assistance, a computer lab, art, music, and dance instruction, and recreational activities five days a week.
The Downtown Sailing Center

For support of the center’s outreach programs, which include an Accessible Sailing Program for persons with physical disabilities, as well as sailing instruction programs for children from disadvantaged communities. The program utilizes volunteers to help maintain optimum instructor-to-sailor ratios, and teaches safety, self-confidence, communication, leadership skills, and teamwork.
