For support of JumpStart, a pre-apprenticeship program in the building and construction trades for 100 unemployed and underemployed Baltimore City residents referred by Goodwill Industries. Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC) provides 13 weeks of training, two nights a week, for three hours each night. Following a successful 90-day job placement in the building trades, a trainee can apply for a four-year apprenticeship with ABC.

Toward support of the Baltimore Food Service and Lodging Sector study, which will provide an overview of the employment outlook of the sector; a description of types of employment opportunities available to Baltimore City residents; a discussion of challenges and opportunities regarding job quality, retention, and advancement; and information regarding careers.

Toward renovation costs of 812 North Rose Street to accommodate four additional beds for disadvantaged residents transitioning into the workforce. The program provides on-the-job training and real-world construction experience for six JumpStart program graduates.

For support of the Baltimore CASH Campaign, an initiative to increase the use of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), now expanded to 20 free tax preparation sites. The campaign identifies EITC-eligible populations and connects them to asset building resources including benefits screening through the EarnBenefits software, college financial aid filing assistance, and credit-repair counseling.

For continued support of the Baltimore CASH Campaign, an initiative designed to increase the use of the Earned Income Tax Credit. Baltimore CASH plans to serve 10,000 tax filers by operating 15 to 17 free tax-preparation sites and training 200 volunteers. As the internal capacity of high-volume sites continues to grow, the quality of services and customer satisfaction will be monitored. Plans call for strengthening and expanding financial education/asset development activities for low-wage tax filers.
