Baltimore’s Promsie

Launched by a diverse group of civic leaders in 2014, Baltimore’s Promise is a collaboration to create a cradle to career pipeline to success for youth in Baltimore City by coordinating strategy, identifying quality programs, establishing shared outcomes, building public will, and advancing good policy. In Year 5, the work will focus on the implementation of the Grads2Careers occupational training scholarships for 2018/2019 graduates from Baltimore City Public Schools and the development of an Integrated Data System.

In support of providing occupational skills training leading to employment for 500 Baltimore City Schools graduates in the Classes of 2018 and 2019 who do not enroll in four-year colleges and universities through the new Career Pathways Demonstration Model: Grads2Careers.

Banner Neighborhoods Community Corporation

$25,000 / 2004 / Health and Human Services
For continued support of the Patterson Park Youth Program, developed to provide activities for more than 400 neighborhood children. The program includes support of basketball and football leagues, reading and art clubs, and a summer youth employment program. Adult volunteers serve as coaches, mentors, teachers, and tutors.

In support of general operations for programs serving vulnerable young people and older adults in East Baltimore communities.

In support of providing home repairs and handicap modifications to low-income senior and disabled homeowners, relieving the financial burdens associated with home maintenance and enabling them to age in place and retain community ties and social networks.
