As Grants Administrator, Irene facilitates the Abell Foundation’s support of innovative nonprofit organizations in Baltimore by overseeing the Foundation’s grants process and ensuring that all applications, payments, and reporting requirements are managed accurately. She also manages the Foundation’s extensive grants archive and provides support with communication functions.

Prior to joining the Foundation in 2021, Irene worked as a grant writer for Thread in Baltimore, and Miami City Ballet in Miami Beach. At the Foundation, she is able to apply her experience and organizational, operational, and writing skills in support of Abell’s grantees and the broader Baltimore community. Irene graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a bachelor’s degree in professional writing and a master’s degree in arts management.
